Our Story
Elevate was born out of a passion to assist individuals and organizations, big and small, to have fulfilled personal and professional lives. Many people spend the majority of their time engaging with others, yet they very often lack the necessary skills and self awareness to adequately deal with the different challenges and personalities they encounter on a daily basis. Whether this is at home, at work, in a team or around a boardroom table, there is always something for all of us to learn, unlearn or relearn in order to improve how we show up to the world.
MEET MIRANDA
Founder / Director
Elevate was founded by Miranda Cloete who has more than 20 years of experience working in people functions, including Human Resources, Learning and Development and Organizational Development. She has experience working with people both in and outside of Corporate. Miranda believes in empowering others to reach their full potential by helping them realise how to function in a Strengths-based manner in any environment. She is a firm supporter of the Clifton Strengths methodologies and gets a deep sense of satisfaction when others realise their natural strengths and apply them to reach their full potential. She also facilitates personal development programs both in the workplace and at special events.
Miranda graduated from the University of Stellenbosch, qualifying with a Bachelor of Social Science degree in Industrial Psychology. She went on to complete her Honours degree in Industrial Psychology and registered as a Psychometrist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
Having a keen interest in coaching both individuals and teams and helping others realise their own potential, she became a certified NLP Practitioner and Life Coach. She further specialised in Team development and certified in Clifton Strengths, Belbin, Enneagram and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator as approaches to personality typing.
Miranda has a strong values orientation, she is inspired to make a difference in the lives of those around her and to impact the world in a positive manner.
“From Lighthouse Towers to Corporate Boardrooms…
I was always fascinated by the way Lighthouses acted as beacons of hope, guiding weary, lost seafarers to safety. Realizing that we as human beings also operate in an uncertain, volatile world, and that we too require hope and guidance from those we trust, inspired me to help leaders develop into beacons of hope and direction for those that follow them.
My official career started as a Training officer for the Lighthouse Services division in the South African Maritime industry. During my time at this company I had the opportunity to work with all the Lighthouse keepers and other staff members around the South African coastline, developing leaders at different levels within the organization. After more than 20 years in Leadership and Culture development, I still find it very rewarding when I can assist leaders to become “Lighthouses” for their own teams and their organizations.”
